Bio
Ricardo Vizcarra is a filmmaker and interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans video, music, photography, painting, mixed media, and their contemporary intersections. He is based in Toronto, Canada, and also works as filmmaker in television, independent cinema, and streaming platforms. His work has been showcased at biennials, art fairs, and international competitions.
He has been awarded academic scholarships from Universidad Iberoamericana, the University of Pisa in Italy, and the Catholic University of Peru, among others. He pursued studies in art at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), film at Asociación Mexicana de Cineastas Independientes (AMCI) in Mexico and at The Art Students League of New York. He was a recipient of the Young Creators Grant from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA). In addition, he has studied law and human rights.
